Oh, I'm so sad about poor Goose. What a great dog, and an awesome friend. You and Julia gave him as good a time as a dog's ever had, swimming and skiing and letting him howl at the moon with you. I know you must miss his gigantic patient face and constant presence. That's the hardest part to get over...not seeing their big black nose jammed into the crack of the door when you get home. You must really miss him.

OH the goody-goose-dog gone . . . I loved that dog as he ran with me at patagonia during my lunch time breaks, shared any number of sticks, balls and what ever that slimmy red drool covered rubber thing was that he use to chew on, and all of the bounces he had as he ran through the snow. Ironically my family and I are currently looking for a Yellow lab do mostly to my experiences with the indearing love that dog gave to everything he did. We will miss him and send our blessings to the family. Hope you and Julia and the BUN in the Oven are doing GREAT!

Bobby and Julio,

Sorry to hear about Goose. He was amazing and I miss the days of him following us down the Chattooga. I will tip my next drink in his honor and he will always remain in my memories as the badass that he was. Hope you guys are well.

I'm shedding a few tears for Goose as I type. Though I never met him, I know how much it hurts to lose a cherished pet. I was never able to write about that experience, but you put it into words so well. I'm so sorry.

Wow.

That story hits close to home for me, as you know, and I feel for your loss. How lucky we both are to have, or have had the unflinching loyalty and love of a good old Yellow Lab in our lives.

Go Big Goose.

Robert, I hate it for your loss and know Goose will always be missed. I loved reading about him and sobbed through the stories knowing your pain and the inevitable ending. Take Care.

For the love of dog. I recently got a pup of my own, Gracie, who has been a little "diva" at times, but I love her all the same. There is something truly primal in a human/canine relationship - maybe it's piece of our DNA that drives us to forge such strong bonds with them, who knows. Either way, they are special because they give you unconditional love and show raw emotion - something I fear we are not accustomed to.

I for one, will do my part to remember Goose. He was one of the best friends I've ever had, a guardian, a goofball and a Goose. I love you Goose, thanks for being my buddy.
