What do I do and Who am I?
Robert currently serves as director of marketing for SAXOTECH, a leading provider of content management, circulation and advertising solutions in use by more than 600 media organizations across the globe. Primary responsibilities include creating and executing an integrated marketing communications plan; brand positioning; guiding public relations activities; developing multi-channel marketing materials; supervising external vendor relationships; and managing workflow of marketing communications deliverables in support of the business plan.
Robert’s skill sets reach across all aspects of an integrated and multi-channel communication strategy. His online marketing career started with the direction of email marketing and web campaigns for Mandalay Resort Group, resulting in several awards for creative execution and exceptional return on investment. His work caught the attention of the interactive marketing company, Twelve Horses where he directed their corporate marketing, advertising, and public relations efforts, as well as provided strategic consulting for travel/tourism clients such as Park City, Heavenly Mountain Resort, and America’s Adventure Place.
Robert was an early adopter of business blogging, and his work in social media has led to numerous marketing and advertising awards including a WEBBY for one of the marketing industry’s first podcast series, Horse Power. He has worked in sales, marketing, advertising and public relations for a variety of companies, including Switchback PR & Marketing, Stoel Rives LLP, Preferred Capital Corporation and Patagonia. Robert has an MBA with a specialization in Marketing from the University of Nevada and a BA from Clemson University.
Robert’s approach to business and marketing has been shaped by a lifetime of carving, clambering, peddling, paddling, and occasionally crawling across some of the steepest and remotest places on the planet.
“To succeed on the competitive edge requires an alignment with experienced individuals you know and trust. When it comes to business, expect no less from me.”
When Robert is not busy pushing the parameters of his profession, he is often found pushing the limits of gravity and enjoys writing and capturing the results.
